Juan Jose (JJ) Ayala, is a seasoned media research professional whose career spans more than three decades. He began in 1987 in Mexico, working across radio operations, programming research, on-air talent, promotions, production, music engineering, and sales. Over the years, JJ has partnered with leading organizations including Uniradio, Metro Networks, Shadow Traffic, Signature Sound, Clear Answers Group, West Group Research, HBC, and TelevisaUnivision, earning a reputation as a trusted advisor and consultant.

In 2003, JJ was introduced to the content research world, marking a pivotal shift in his career. He embraced programming research as a core discipline and has since delivered invaluable audience insight to broadcasters, programmers, and brands.

In January 2024, following an unexpected layoff from TelevisaUnivision, JJ evaluated four separate business ideas before realizing that his true passion was market research. Drawing on two decades of audience-insight work, he envisioned a firm that would serve nonprofits, social-impact organizations, brands, and employee-centered teams, essentially anyone who needed better questions, better data, and clearer insight.

On May 6, 2024, JJ officially founded Team Percepto, a full-service research company built on resilience, clarity, and human kindness. Well before registration, he had invested hundreds of hours designing rigorous methodologies, testing advanced analytics tools, and crafting presentations that bring data to life. His guiding principle is to help people make sense of the world, transforming raw feedback into clear, actionable intelligence.

Central to JJ’s journey is his commitment to collaboration and family support. He credits his wife, two daughters, and parents for their encouragement and for instilling the values of hard work and humility.

Today, as Executive Director of Team Percepto, JJ leads an end-to-end research practice, spanning strategic advisory, custom study design, data collection, advanced analytics, and activation. He continues to empower media and social-media content and sales teams, as well as hospitality, retail, and other industries, to refine strategies, optimize operations, and enhance customer and employee experiences with intelligence rooted in empathy and rigor.
